I could care less about Sunday’s Super Bowl. All I need to know is why Mark Sanchez’s tight bod and his Jets super friends didn’t make it to the championship. I would also like to know where in L.A. I can go to plump my belly with some of the city’s greatest comfort foods during Super Bowl 46.

So if on Sunday you’re wanting to eat your sadness just like me, or are a celebrating Patriots or Giants fan (yay for you), here are a few of the spots that I am highly considering as possible accomplices in my food comma stunt.

Also, the game starts at 3:30pm PST. Therefore, I suggest you call for reservations or show up to your place of choice at least two hours in advance to ensure you’re not left digging into your hot wings in the restaurant aisles. Lastly, meet me at the bar.

Casey’s Irish Pub in Downtown L.A. will have Happy Hour specials running during the game, these include $3 Pabst Blue Ribbon, $4 well cocktails, $5 Jameson, and $2 off all appetizers.

First & Hope in Downtown L.A.  has a ‘First & 10′ Super Bowl Party going on with creatively named beer food such as $10 burger baskets, Running Back Ribs, Nickleback Nachos, Cheesehead Chili, and Blanket Wrapped Pigs.



City Tavern has an all-day happy hour featuring meatballs, chorizo pigs in a blanket, $10 craft beer growlers and more. The also make killer burgers! Bar opens early at 2:30pm.


Basement Tavern is hosting a tailgating party with complimentary BBQ-style food with the purchase of two drinks. They will also have an all-day happy hour with $3 beers, $5 house wine and 50% off bottles of vino. You can also purchase one of their packages such as the Bourbon and Bacon deal which runs for $1,000 and feeds 10 friends. This includes a bottle of engraved Woodford Reserve Bourbon, bacon-wrapped hot dogs, and a private room for your Super Bowl viewing pleasure.



Clancy's Clubhouse has a Stupid Hot Wing Challenge going on. The Super Bowl Sunday party starts at 2pm and includes a $20 food credit, two raffle tickets and one entry on the game board.


Lucky Strike in Downtown L.A. has a Super Bowl extravaganza planned with games and contest going on from 11 to 8 a.m. They also have $10 Heineken pitchers, $12 domestic draft pitchers, $14 import draft pitchers, and $3 Heineken drafts.

Seoul Sausage Company’s party starts at 2 pm and costs $20. The price includes all you can eat seoul sausage, custom nacho bar, open bar from Ketel One and Deschutes Beer, free desserts from Snow Monkey, giveaways at half time and beer pong and football squares competitions.

Yojie Shabu Shabu has another early bird event going on with its $5 bottomless sake sangria special starting at 11:30 a.m.

Biergarten's $22.99 Super Bowl combo includes 1 liter stein of German Beer, a giant bacon cheddar pretzel, and choice of entrée. Also, if Aaron Rodgers Scores 3 touchdowns or more, each table gets a pitcher of Samuel Adams for one penny.
