GLAUDI by Johana Hernandez Says “Presente!” To Project Ethos L.A. Fashion Week

All across Los Angeles and throughout the month of October, numerous designers will present their Spring 2012 collections in numerous spaces and showcases. Among them and at the Project Ethos event will be GLAUDI by Johana Hernandez.

Armed with her modern fashion collection of feathered gowns, enhanced shoulder designs and sequined, ready to wear evening dresses, the young Salvadoran-American designer will showcase at the exclusive Project Ethos L.A. Fashion Week event as the only Latin designer on the bill.

Hernandez, who is also co-founder of “Latinos Con Corazon”, a non-profit organization that raises funds for impoverished children in Latin America through its “Estilo Con Causa” fashion/art/music event, will be competing with other presenting designers in the “Flavor Fashionista Challenge” presented by event sponsor vitaminwater zero. Given the challenge to design one garment inspired by any one of the vitaminwater zero flavors, the live text-to-vote contest will award one of the competing designers prizes valued up to $3,000. I AM by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and six emerging Los Angeles based designers including BritBoy, Pentard Couture, Lauren Nicole, Multeepurpose, NAMI and Japanese import B by APERIRE will also make their presence known on the runway and in the competition.


GLAUDI has been caught on red carpets, in television interviews and music videos as worn by Mexican pop icon Anahi, recording artist and actress Ninel Conde, and former MTV host Susie Castillo. The creative mind behind GLAUDI has also had her hand in the mix with the collections for Seven Jeans and Eli Tahari / Tahari Jeans, among others.

The Project Ethos L.A. Fashion Week event will begin with a live concert featuring Colombian-American singer Julie Zorrilla who was one spot away from joining the American Idol Season 10 summer tour. And in its first Los Angeles performance, Black Cards-- the new musical project of Fall Out Boy’s former bassist Pete Wentz, will also have a slot in the event agenda performing its mix of electronica, ska, dance and reggae. The event will come full circle with a visual arts display and live DJ sets.

Project Ethos will be held on Friday, October 14th, 2011 at 8pm at the House of Blues Sunset Strip. Door open at 8:00p.m. More information here.
