The songbook of Grammy Award winners David Hidalgo sand Louie Pérez of Los Lobos drives Evangeline, the Queen of Make-Believe, a multimedia play with music by Theresa Chavez, Louie Pérez and Rose Portillo that takes its title from the group’s 1985 rocker “Evangeline.”

“The Who’s Tommy”, the first musical work turned rock opera, takes its direction from the band’s fourth release Tommy, an album that tells the story of a kid who after witnessing his father kill his mother’s lover, turns deaf, dumb and blind. That traumatic episode witnessed by the young Tommy makes him turn inward into his own world where he only responds to his image in mirrors. He later becomes a pinball wizard and is admired by his peers, unexpectedly becoming the leader of a youth movement.

Un programa ofrecido por ISC permite a personas de todas las edades formar parte de talleres de teatro y asistir a montajes de obras de William Shakespeare en un anfiteatro natural situado en el hermoso ambiente del Griffith Park en Los Angeles. La experiencia se extenderá desde el 10 de julio al 28 de agosto. Las obras que podrán apreciarse en esta temporada son “Las alegres comadres de Windsor” (The Merry Wives if Windsor”), “Trabajos de amor perdidos” (Love’s labour lost”) y “Hamlet”.
